The event held in Cuba in 2017 to dialogue on the paths of dance was included in the book "La danza en el siglo XXI: dialogos, cuerpos, escenas" (Dance in the 21st century: dialogues, bodies, scenes), whose official launch will be this Friday.
The “Nave Oficio de Isla” is the venue for the launching of the volume, edited by Cupulas publishing house and based from a compilation by Marilyn Garbey and Lazaro Benitez, who recorded the first meeting of the fragmented memory, held on October 3-6, 2017.
That was a significant event for dancers, choreographers, researchers, critics, managers and teachers from several countries, who discussed the realities, problems and perspectives of dance at present.
Academic knowledge, life experiences, documents of creative processes presented by 17 authors from Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Cyprus, France and Cuba, were the issues included in this volume, which also became a contribution to updating the bibliography on the specialty.
Designed by Frank Cuesta and edited by Yadira Herrera, the book is, according to the specialists, a different and multiple view of the stage event that invites and contributes to thinking and creating dance.
