The Farsi-language edition of the book Cuba-US relations, Obama and beyond, by the prestigious researcher Arnold August, was launched here on Monday, at a ceremony at the Cuban Embassy, diplomatic sources reported.
During the event, Cuban Ambassador Alexis Bandrich Vega read a letter sent by the book's, a close friend of Cuba, and stressed that the work constitutes a valuable tool to understand the complex relations between Cuba with the United States.
After highlighting that it is very useful for diplomatic work, he explained that the book also ponders the heroic resistance of the Cuban people to the challenge of living with an empire that does not give up its efforts to defeat the Cuban Revolution in all possible ways.
The Cuban ambassador noted the importance of knowing deeply the policy of the United States Government on Cuba and, in that regard, the opportunity that the book gives us to investigate, study, reflect and reveal Washington's vile purposes.
According to the diplomat, with a foreword by Arnold August himself and an epilogue by prominent Cuban intellectual Luis Toledo Sande, the important work was translated into Persian by Mohammad Ghorbani, an Iranian academic.
He highlighted that Ghorbani has been linked for decades to solidarity work with Cuba, especially by translating books, articles and research, which reveal Cuba's truths to the Iranian people and other speakers of that language.
The book launch was honored by the presence of Ghorbani, Nicaraguan Ambassador Isaac Lenin Bravo, and Hamid Sharabi, director of the House of Latin America(HOLA).
