With the aim of stimulating critical studies and literary research, the Association of Writers of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) invites its members to the "Cintio Vitier" Creation Scholarship, for book projects.

Bases

1. All writers members of the organization may participate.
2. It will compete with projects of critical studies and literary research.
3. Authors may submit only one project at a time.
4. The projects must include, in addition to the rationale and preparation plan, a chapter or fragment of the work that allows to appreciate the quality of the text, as well as the bibliography used.
5. The works can be sent in two modalities:

In the variant of printed work, three copies must be delivered, duly numbered and pre-stamped, written on sheets of 8 and a half by 11 inches, on one side, typed or on a computer, double spaced and with a legible font size, not less than 12 points. On the first page, only the name of the Grant, the title of the project and the pseudonym or motto of the author should appear; In a separate envelope, which will bear the title of the project and the pseudonym on its cover, the full name, address, telephone number, email or any other form of communication will be entered, as well as a brief curriculum.
7. In the modality of sending by email, the name of the Scholarship must appear in the subject, and in two independent attachments, in the same email, it will be put: Title and pseudonym (project), title and pseudonym (data of the author). Any reference in the text of the work that reveals the identity of the contestant will imply his disqualification.
8. A contract will be drawn up with the author, where the delivery deadlines for the finished book are set (which should not exceed one year) for the subsequent evaluation of the finished book by Ediciones Unión with a view to its publication by this publisher. The authors must inform the Writers Association, either by email or by phone (7832-41-52), the progress of the project and its completion on a regular basis.
9. The printed projects will be delivered or sent by ordinary mail, in which case the postmark must have, as a deadline, the same as the closing date of that call, at the UNEAC Writers Association at Calle 17 #351 between G and H, Vedado . The projects that are sent by email must be sent to the address escritores@uneac.co.cu .
10. The jury will be made up of three distinguished personalities of our letters and their decision will be final.
11. A single and indivisible prize will be awarded that will consist of an accrediting diploma and 18,000 MN pesos, distributed in 3,000 monthly cups for a semester.
12. The project admission period closes on July 3, 2023.
13. The ruling will be announced in September 2023 in an official ceremony, in the Rubén Martínez Villena Room of UNEAC.
14. Competing in this edition means full acceptance of these rules.
