The Cuban Chamber of the Book (CCL) and the Company of Information Technologies and Advanced Telematic Services (CITMATEL) , joined forces and cooperation with each other with the purpose of promoting Cuban literature and forms of reading in all its variants, especially in the digital sphere, in order to rescue the habit of reading in the population and the general public.

Within the agreement, carried out yesterday afternoon, it was agreed that the CCL grant a preferential space to CITMATEL for communication and commercialization during the development of the International Book Fair of Havana, in the provincial and international book fairs, additionally to the space in the Cuba Digital Project, as well as in other related events during the term of this agreement.

On the other hand, the CCL will promote the spaces and services that CITMATEL offers on the communication, commercialization and distribution of the book and its authors that are part of the catalog of the publishing labels.

CITMATEL will also guarantee the CCL a videoconference room with the technological conditions required to carry out activities related to the organization and participation in book and literature events, or other related events.

And finally , there will be no payment whatsoever, except those derived from the economic contracts to be signed under the Collaboration Agreement. This agreement will begin its validity as of its signature by both parties. The one that will be valid for a period of five years, and may be extended for the same term provided that the parties expressly ratify their interest.
