The opening day of the Havana International Book Fair begins, as every year, with the official flag-raising ceremony.

Patricia Ariza Flórez, Minister of Culture of Colombia , representing the delegation of the guest country of honor in this 31st edition, together with Alpidio Alonso Grau , Minister of Culture of the host country, met at the main venue of the event, La Fortaleza of San Carlos de La Cabaña, to accompany the hoisting of the flags that will be present during the 10 days of the Fair.

With inclusive reading as the theme and the dedication to the Cuban bibliographer Araceli García-Carranza Bassetti and the Julio Travieso National Prize for Literature , the 31st Havana International Book Fair will be officially inaugurated today at 6:00 pm in the presentations Nicolás Guillén.
