Over one hundred children have successfully completed the My Rights creative workshop, coordinated by the Educational Services Department of the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana, with the support from UNICEF representatives in Cuba.

Divided into seven groups, which also included teenagers and young adults, the participants used Visual Arts and other techniques to explore themes such as identity, nationality, and their rights to play, education, family life, and medical care.

The Didactic Room of the museum is currently showcasing the results of these sessions, held in July 2024. Just before the exhibition opening, families joined their young artists at the workshop’s closing ceremony, where the children received diplomas recognizing their achievements.

The event also marked the 35th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. It featured performances by singer-songwriter Enid Rosales and her group, as well as members of Oralitura Habana, who presented the show «Planeta Chamaquili.»

To celebrate Children’s Day, the museum’s theater hosted poets from the Casa de la Décima of Mayabeque and enthusiasts from the special school Solidaridad con Panamá.

Each activity focused on family education and the importance of upholding the universal rights of children, adolescents, and young adults.

Enrollment for the next workshop is scheduled for Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., in the Educational Department area of the museum.
