Cuba and Mexican artists combine talent in collective exhibition

Cuban and Mexican artists are combining their talents to make up the Cuba-Mexico Latin American Graphic collective exhibition at the Belkis Ayon Gallery in Havana, which will open on June 9.

According to a press release from the Jose Antonio Diaz Pelaez Experimental Center for Visual Arts, the exhibition brings together the works of nine Cuban artists and seven Mexican creators from the city of Oaxaca.

Curated by Casa de la Americas specialist Lisandra Aguilar and her counterpart from the Belkis Ayon Gallery, Abenamar Bauta, the exhibition shows different engraving techniques, such as woodcuts, serigraphy, collagraphs and lithography.

Designed by Fabian Muñoz and a multidisciplinary team, it consists of works by Mexican artists Mario Guzman, Yescka Guerrilla, Cesar Chavez, Everest Isaac, Ivan Bautista, Gilda Genis Garcia, Fernando Beta.

Cuba is represented by Frank Valdez, Yainiel Martinez, Yusniel Labañino, Lisbeth Corvo, Jessica Vazquez, Hanna Chomenko, Kevin Sanchez, Jesus Molina and Cesar Leal.
