As part of the activities to commemorate the 6th anniversary of the physical loss of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, journalist and essayist Katiuska Blanco Castiñeiras presented today the new edition of her book Angel, la raiz gallega de Fidel (Angel, Fidel's Galician Roots).
The author explained that the first presentation of the volume was in 2008, during the Havana International Book Fair, with the presence of the intellectual Miguel Barnet and Eusebio Leal, eternal historian of Havana, to whom she dedicated this new edition.
The edition includes a letter that the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution wrote to Blanco Castiñeiras, as well as the web address where you can download a special supplement of the Juventud Rebelde newspaper on the occasion of the presentation of the book 14 years ago.
Omar Gonzalez, coordinator in Cuba of the Network of Intellectuals, Artists and Social Movements in Defense of Humanity, described it as a novel full of tenderness, which should be kept because it allows us to delve into the life of Angel Castro y Argiz, the father of a bloodline that would forge the destiny of the Cuban nation.
The presentation took place at the Fidel Castro Ruz Center, which is also celebrating its first year of existence, and was attended by Adam Chavez, ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Cuba, as well as Elier Ramirez Cañedo, deputy director of that institution.
