On January 21 to 28, the musically creative city of Santiago de Cuba will host for the sixth time the International Festival “Jazz Plaza”.
The event will start with the opening gala Cuba Vive (Cuba lives on), with solo performances and bands that will honor various Cuban music figures and a concert by pianist and composer Nachito Herrera.
Rodulfo Vaillant, director of the provincial chapter of the Cuban Union of Writers and Artists and chair of the Organizing Committee, announced a Colloquium in memory of Mariano Mercerón, one of the first musicians to play jazz in this city.
Dedicated this time to the work of performing artists Bola de Nieve, Miguelito Cuní and César Pupy Pedroso, “Jazz Plaza” stands out as an effective platform for the development and promotion of this genre.
