Sancti Spíritus. Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Thursday attended a cultural gala held in this province, venue of the main event on the 71st anniversary of the attack on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes garrisons.
The historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro Ruz (1926-2016), whose voice was heard on several occasions and who addressed the people of Sancti Spiritus for the first time on January 6, 1959, from one of the balconies of the aforementioned cultural institution, was present.
Also present at the gala were Prime Minister Manuel Marrero and Vice President Salvador Valdés Mesa, and Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés, members of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC).
