In honor of the 170th anniversary of the birth of Cuba's National Hero José Martí, a transcendental figure in the independence of the Antillean island, the virtual exhibition El Martí de Todos (The Martí of All) is on display today on the Internet.
The exhibition presents the work of more than 18 Cuban artists, including Yoylán Cabrales, Vladimir Cabrera, Evelyn Carnot, Ernesto Castiñeira, Adrián Espinosa, Giselle Fernández, Enrique González, Peter Hubler, Andy Marrero, Ailyn Martínez, Maribel Peréz, José Querol, Frank Rodríguez, Márgel Sánchez, Enrique Smith and Marila Sarduy.
Under the curatorship of art historian Alain Cabrera, the exhibition organized by the Cuban Ministry of Culture and the National Council of Plastic Arts will also feature artists Kamyl Bullaudy, Lorenzo Santos and Gerardo de la Llera and will be shown on the digital site http://expomarti.cult.cu/index.php?page=m_home_page.public.home_page.
According to scholars, Marti was an excellent politician, crowd-puller, orator, journalist, educator, diplomat, poet, and man of letters and sciences.
