The commemoration of this January 28 should be for Cuban patriots an opportunity to feel, love, honor and, above all, think about José Martí, said Yusuam Palacios Ortega, president of the Martí's Youth Movement (MJM).

In every way possible, the Cuban people and especially its children, adolescents, and young people will pay a grateful tribute to our National Hero, on the 167th anniversary of his birth, said the also deputy to the National Assembly of People's Power and director of the Forge Martiana Museum.

The tribute will be immense and meaningful, both in factories, cooperatives, schools, communities, as well as in squares, streets, historical sites, even in the highest peaks and cyberspace, from the creative work, committed art, reflection, study of his life, work, and huge legacy, he said.

Competitions, exhibitions, the traditional Martí's pioneer parades, municipal meetings corresponding to the 45th edition of the National Youth Seminar of Martí's Studies, ascents to the highest points of the Cuban geography, galas, gatherings, vigils, productive mobilizations: all this is already happening or is about to happen, he emphasized.

He added to the above walks and visits to museums and other places that have much to say about the Apostle of the independence of Cuba, such as Playita de Cajobabo, the farm El Abra and Dos Rios, and historical routes, which in the capital, for example, will follow the footsteps of the child and adolescent Martí from his birthplace to the Fragua Martiana.

The latter will again be the destination, on the night of January 27, of the traditional Torchlight March, San Lázaro down from University Hill, said Palacios Ortega, and among the actions he mentioned, also, an honor guard on the 25th before the statue of the Hero in Havana's Central Park, once outraged by drunk and impudent Yankee Marines.

There will be spaces for reflection, debate and, above all, to think about Martí, the President of the MJM pointed out, and spoke of opportunities for the Dialogue of Generations and a course, in which reading will build bridges for the meeting of young people with the most famous of all Cubans.

He pointed out that in connection with the commemoration, a workshop on Martí's thought today will take place in all the provinces, bringing together representatives of various generations to reflect on the contemporaneity of José Martí, the validity of his ideas and how present and multiplied he is and how necessary he is.

The supreme objective of everything we do will always be to bring the young generations closer to the Maestro, because to love him is to love Cuba, but what is not known is not loved well nor can it be defended, and that is what it is all about, reading, studying him and apprehending that way of seeing the world that helps to understand, grow, and live, he said.

As never before, these times demand from every Cuban revolutionary, especially the young ones, to study, reason, and understand, because culturally, in terms of symbols and thought, it is the greatest war that is being waged against us, and we have to win it by thought, and in Martí there are the keys, the answers; our Fidel always knew this, Palacios Ortega stressed.
