The film 'Los Nombres de las Flores' (The Names of Flowers), inspired in the last minutes in the life of guerrilla fighter Ernesto Che Guevara, will be screened at the 11th Beijing International Film Festival, organizers said.

The event will run from August 14 to 21 and will show 13 national and foreign films that will compete for the Tiantan Award in different categories.

'The Names of Flowers' (2019), directed by Iranian moviemaker Bahman Tavoosi, is based on the story of teacher Julia Cortez, one of the last people who saw Che alive. She talked and gave him a peanut soup a few minutes before he was assassinated in Vallegrande, Bolivia, in October 1967.

The film already won the Best Director Award this year at the Kerala International Film Festival, in India, and the Best Narrative Feature Film Award at the Sharjah Film Platform in the United Arab Emirates in 2020.
