The streets, parks and squares of the Cuban capital will once again emerge as the stage for the International Festival of Dance in Urban Landscapes, which returns today to the calendar of on-site events on the island.
Known as Habana Vieja Ciudad en Movimiento (Old Havana City in Movement), the event will take place from April 22 to 24 in emblematic sites of the city, including the Plaza de Armas and Las Carolinas, which have become the main venues for public performances.
In its 16th edition, the street dance event returns to the on-site format but with strict observance of the measures implemented in the country to prevent the spread of Covid-19, explains the company Danza Teatro Retazos on its Facebook profile.
Likewise, the usual master classes, lectures, panels, staging, exhibitions and video screenings will take place at the Creative Spaces (Espacios Creativos) and A+ center.
At the same time, the Festival Internacional de Videodanza DV Danza Habana, Movimiento y Ciudad (International Festival of Videodanza DV Dance Havana, Movement and City) will be held as a platform to showcase the link between both esthetic expressions.
Founded in 1996, the event combines the talent of artists from different nations who burst into the daily life of Old Havana streets to bring spectators closer to the most contemporary samples of dance and its fusion with other manifestations.
