Prime Minister Manuel Marrero praised the work done over 63 years by the Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (Icaic), which has become a cornerstone of cinema in Cuba.
On his Twitter account, Marrero congratulated the members of this agency, which is celebrating its anniversary on March 24, and highlighted its “artistic and intellectual” prestige in the cultural scene of Cuba and Latin America.
Meanwhile, Minister of Culture, Alpidio Alonso, also congratulated all filmmakers and other workers of this emblematic cultural institution, and recalled the program of activities distinguished by the voice of Ivette Cepeda.
Likewise, Ramon Samada, president of Icaic, which was founded just 83 days after the triumph of the Revolution on January 1, 1959, evoked the beginning of the institution, as a space to promote film creation in Cuba.
In that regard, film professionals joined the celebrations from various virtual platforms to remember the emergence of Icaic and the achievements promoted in more than six decades in the development of audiovisual work and the training of the people dedicated to this art.
