The CIRCUBA International Festival opened on Thursday with the participation of 11 countries, according to the director of the event's office, Rodolfo Pacios.

He informed that performances took place at the Cultural Complex of the Heredia Theater in this city, where groups from Germany, the United States, Colombia, Chile, Spain, Italy, England, and Cuba, among other countries, will perform.

He stressed that the international circus festival will close on September 4, and noted that in its 18 editions, this is the first time it is held outside Havana.

Among the categories in competition at the Festival are magic, swing acrobatics, aerial acts, arm wrestling, chair balancing, juggling with unicycles, and gymnastics.

According to Pacios, CIRCUBA is the most important Festival in the Americas, with artistic shows of very high quality.
