The EICTV is a non-governmental organization that was inaugurated on December 15, 1986. The founders of such school are: Former Cuban president Fidel Castro Ruz, and intellectuals Gabriel García Márquez, Fernando Birri and Julio García Espinosa. It is sponsored by the New Latin American Cinema Foundation along with with the Cuban State.

What does the Regular Course consist of?

In the first year, the students will be introduced to the world of audiovisual creation by showing them the significance of teamwork and the responsibility they should to assume as artists; as well as, the deadlines to fulfill, working methods, and basic techniques to apply during the process of making films or TV programs in order to reach the expected result. Also, they will be able to wide their general culture, knowledge related to cinema world, and how they can relate it to during the creation practice.

In the second and third year, the students will be given the chosen specialty. Specialties to be choose are: Fiction Direction, Documentary Direction, Script, Production, Sound, Editing, Photography and TV Production and New Audiovisual Narratives. The School does not admit changes of specialty within the course. The studies will conclude with a final exercise (Thesis). 

Application procedure:

Each candidate will fill out a Registration Form, available on the website www.eictv.org and in the Representative Offices of each country in printed version. This formal registration along with the School's representation in your country implies a cost from 30 and 60 USD of range.

The form will be sent via email to EICTV at academica@eictv.org.cu or academica@eictv.co.cu and to the School Representation in your country that appears in the attached list. The candidates will be invited to a personal encounter with their representative institutions of the School in their country or in offices of the Embassy of Cuba, in which they should make a test on skills and general culture, and another test related to the Specialization they wish to take.

At such appointment, the applicants should submit the required documentation and they will be interviewed by a jury, which will record the conversation in video format. Each applicant will introduce himself or herself briefly, and him or she will talk about his or her reasons why he or she wants to study at such School. Also they should answer some jury possible questions.

Cost:

The Regular Course has a registration fee for students from Latin American, Caribbean and African countries of 18,000.00 EUR (6,000.00 EUR per year)*, whose payment should be presented at the beginning of each academic cycle: 66.5% (4,000.00 EUR ) by bank transfer before entering the School in September and the other 33.5% (2,000.00 EUR)  from February 1 to 15  (preferably through bank transfer).

*It will cover the 30% of the real cost of per student. The Cuban state and the School will cover the remaining 70%.

 The tuition cost for students from other countries will be 24,000.00 EUR (8,000.00 EUR per year)*, the payment of which will be made at the beginning of each academic cycle: 75% (6,000.00 EUR) thorugh bank transfer before admission to the School in September, and the remaining 25% (2,000.00 EUR) from February 1 to 15 (preferably through bank transfer).

 *This tuition covers 50% of the real cost per student.

The cost of registration covers:

Total cost of practical theoretical training Meals and individual accommodation at the EICTV campus facilities during their studies access to basic medical and emergency services in the infirmary of the institution itself full access to the academic benefits and services provided by the EICTV.

Students should guarantee valid Medical Insurance for Cuba, during the three years of study. One option is to pay the EICTV an additional 500 EUROS to process said insurance with ASISTUR, the Cuban institution in charge of that management.

 Having from 22 to 30 of age, at the time of taking the exame.

Submiting the completed Registration Form Submit your printed resume.

Submiting legal certificates of studies that show that you have completed at least two years of higher education in any career (submit degrees or diplomas in legal photocopies).

Presenting a portfolio of materials in film, video, still photography, music, graphic arts, literature, theater, press, etc., in whose preparation you have played a creative role, and whose credits include your name. This portfolio will be a fundamental piece in the selection of the student, since it will help us to assess their creative potential.

It is requested to be as complete and careful as possible.

Submiting a self-portrait in any medium and technique.

 Submiting a motivation letter of a maximum of 2 pages stating why you want to study Cinema, Television or New Media.

Mastering the Spanish language. Applicants whose original language is not Spanish must prove that they have sufficient knowledge of that language.

Submiting a letter of endorsement from the person or institution that they will be responsible for paying their tuition, with an email address, address, place of work and telephone numbers.

The School will confirm the veracity of these data. Submit six printed photos, size 4X4 inches (10x10cm).

Presenting nedical certificate of physical and mental fitness.

These documents are delivered on the day of the face-to-face exam.
