The Cuban Percussionist Ruy Lopez-Nussa will premiere space for jazz in Hubert de Blanck at 7 pm, the last Wednesday of each month, to encourage the work of experienced and new musicians.

 The place will be suitable for the presentation of Ruy López-Nussa with his group (The Academy) as well as all the work since his beginnings.

The performances will include guests such as the renowned pianist Alejandro Falcón, among others, who will gradually join the project.

The Academy, a group that emerges as a Project of the Cuban Academy of Percussion was founded and directed by Ruy López-Nussa. It covers in university spaces, with academics, it offers master classes and structures with a base acquired in the universe of the professional show of its protagonists. There is no limit between the act of teaching and the enjoyment of representation itself. Its canons are worth in various musical reference spaces: Jazz Festivals, Folklore, Fusion, as well as its contemporary ramifications.

The repertoire includes different programs, original works, songs and rhythms of our Hispanic, Cuban and African culture, compositions of contemporary authors and foreign appropriations referring to the theme “Cuban percussion”.

It is in jazz where the talent of the musician in improvisation shines, and although he has known many faces and fashions, he does not stop in his authentic searches, those that start from the essences and that Ruy López-Nussa will continue defending.
