The piece Love, Fear, Loss , by the Brazilian choreographer Ricardo Amarante, which recreates the life of the famous French singer Edith Piaf, will be in the new season of the National Ballet of Cuba, in the Avellaneda Hall, of the National Theater of Cuba, on weekends weekdays between March 17 and 26.

Amarante conceived this proposal based on the trajectory of the French diva and conceived the choreography as a succession of three stages characterized by dissimilar feelings, which marked milestones in the existence of the exceptional French singer.

Amor, Miedo y Pérdida -its title in Spanish- presents these passages of Piaf's existence through three pas de deux, accompanied by songs like La Vie en Rose and Hymme a Amour , by the French interpreter, as well as Ne me Quitte pas , by Jacques Brel and Mon Dieu , by Charles Dumont.

As detailed by the company, Cultural Heritage of the Caribbean nation, this is a ballet that evokes the anthological interpretations of Piaf, which constitute "a faithful reflection of her tragic love life."

In each movement, "the work takes us to an experience of a couple's relationship, in which feelings of love, fear and loss are superimposed on the usual diverse complexity," the text refers to.

In addition to this premiere in Cuba, the revival of A fuego lento , which “exposes how the first feelings of love and desire grow in a person, like a fire that burns from within,” will be staged by Amarante .

The piece "shows a degree of emotional intensity, over the sensual music of Lalo Schifrin, Astor Piazzolla, Carlos Gardel and S. Kosugi," explains the information from the Cuban company, whose season includes the works Otra bella cubana, by the Spanish Susana pous; Ballet 101 by Canadian Eric Gauthier and Concerto DSCH , by Russian-American Alexei Ratmansky.
