The 31st edition of the Pastors for Peace Caravan will arrive in Cuba on Monday to confirm its support to the Caribbean country in the face of threats and sanctions.
With an extensive itinerary in Havana and the Matanzas province (west), the activists come from Miami with a load of medicines and supplies to support the fight against Covid-19, according to authorities of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples.
During their stay, the caravan members will visit the Martin Luther King Center, the Memorial of the Denunciation and several scientific centers in Havana.
According to the announced program, they will also visit the Fidel Castro Center, an institution dedicated to studying the thought of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, and the Latin American School of Medicine.
They will also meet with women entrepreneurs and representatives of grass-roots organizations.
Pastors for Peace is a project of the Interreligious Foundation for Community Organization (IFCO) and emerged in 1988 in response to the aggressive policy of then US President Ronald Reagan against Latin American countries.
The new edition of the Caravan will arrive in Cuba amid an unprecedented campaign of discredit against the Government of the island, promoted with the sole purpose of generating a popular uprising in the Caribbean country.
