A new year begins, after days of festivities and celebrations saying goodbye to 2020 marked by the fight against the coronavirus pandemic at a global level.

In Cuba , we also receive this 2021 with tributes for the 63rd anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution , under the leadership of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz. That is why Cubaliteraria wants to dedicate its first series of the year to this anniversary.

During the first three days of January we will be sharing several articles dedicated to reviewing some texts that are necessary to understand the triumph of January 1959, and everything that has happened six decades later.

Today we will share with our readers some details of From the Sierra Maestra to Santiago de Cuba. The strategic counteroffensive, a book by Fidel.

As its name indicates, the volume collects the epic of the so-called Strategic Counteroffensive carried out by the Rebel Army, from the Sierra Maestra to its victorious entry into the eastern province.

Although Fidel does not tell what happened every day during that stage, but rather focuses on the events and combats in which he participated, readers are able to understand how the revolutionary triumph was achieved.

According to the Fidel site. Soldier of Ideas «(…) the voice that is heard (in the book) reveals letters, feelings, opinions, tactics and strategies; who narrates his memories like a diary is the Commander-in-Chief himself.
