To me, my brother was the greatest thing in current Cuban popular music, said Enrique Álvarez being moved in the video, and with that phrase and his feelings, he perhaps unifies the objective of that audiovisual material: to pay tribute to that great man of culture, from love.
This homage comprises an audiovisual material of approximately 57 minutes, in which they share a concert, a selection of Adalberto Álvarez songs, some hits and other not very famous songs by that beloved musician.
Some of those songs that the audience can appreciate are: Si no Vas a Cocinar, Una Mulata en La Habana, and Mi Son, said today José Manuel García in a press conference, manager of Bis Music, provides this musical piece with great value.
He explained that Mi Son is the first song written by the Gentleman of Son when he was studying at the National School of Art (ENA).
According to García, the work done by Enrique and his son Lazarito (Lázaro Enrique Álvarez del Risco), in the selection of songs was essential, and he highlighted the this material has a great sentimental value in keeping the family together.
Along with the concert, several interviews to Adalberto Álvarez’s relatives are inserted in the audiovisual material, relatives who tell their experiences and the affective and creative bonds that keep them together, even after his departure.
To the nephew of the Gentleman; the musician Lázaro Enrique Álvarez, the most important thing about this production is its affective relevance, which he says it is unique, especially by saying that it was made from the heart, and he expects it to reach all Cubans, considering it the most important work of their lives.
He pointed out that this is a material for the history of Cuban music, and he also made an invitation to enjoy the premiere of De Hermano a Hermano next Sunday 21st; also to attend the Charanga Latina’s performance at La Tropical, on the 28th, where some of the songs that compose the concert will be performed live.
De Hermano a Hermano was an original idea by Enrique Álvarez, and he had his son Lázaro Enrique Álvarez’s musical direction, and the direction of José Manuel García. Among the guests in the material there is: Dorgeris Álvarez, Brayan Álvarez, José Luis Cortes, Maykel Dinza, and El Noro.
It will be available by November 21st on music digital platforms, including Sandunga, and on Bis Music’s YouTube channel, being also broadcasted by Cubavisión and Canal Clave.
