The Chicago HotHouse platform is today hosting the closing day of the Hot House Meets Havana event, where its online performances complete the 36th International Jazz Plaza Festival 2021.

The cultural initiative was joined by US instrumentalists including James Sanders, Jean-Cristophe Leroy, Michele Rosewoman, Jerry Blumenfeld, Roscoe Mitchell, Hamid Drake, Michael Zerang, Richton Thomas, Ari Brown feat. with Yosef Ben Israel and Charles Heath.

Plus, the participation of the National Music Prize and founder of Jazz Plaza Bobby Carcassés and fellow countrymen Arturo O'Farrill, Ruy and Harold López-Nussa brothers, Roberto Fonseca and Michel Herrera deserves to be highlighted.

Supported by the Cuban Institute of Music and the Ministry of Culture, the event's agenda activated the cultural talk between Cuban and US musicians, who reflected on the jazz influence upon the region.

This cultural collaboration had its precedents with the Concert for Cuba event, broadcast in 2020 by the HotHouse Chicago platform, in order to support the nomination of the Henrry Reeve Medical Brigade for the Nobel Peace Prize.

The International Jazz Plaza Festival took on the online format this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and gathered renowned national and foreign musicians during the tribute to centennial professors and the Leonardo Acosta in Memoriam Colloquium.

Available for free at the following link: hothouse.net/event/hothouse-meets-havana, the event was replicated through numerous profiles on Facebook, YouTube, Streaming Cuba and the Canal Clave of Cuban television.
