The National Center for Concert Music presented the Amadeo Roldán Quartet in the show Música de Concierto: Más Cerca de Ti on Friday, July 16th.
The Amadeo Roldán Quartet is composed by violins, viola, and cello, and it is part of the National Philharmonic of Cuba. It was founded in 2002 and it is one of the most important chamber music ensembles in Cuba.
This ensemble is conducted by the maestro Leonardo Pérez, and has a repertoire that comprises not only their own compositions, but pieces from other genres and time periods, including Latin Jazz and Fusion music.
They proved this by performing the following songs: Libertango (Astor Piazzolla), Collage (Leonardo Pérez), Mambo en Tunisia (Leonardo Pérez), Variaciones Cumbanchero (Rafael Hernández / Guido López Gavilán), Almendra (Abelardo Valdés / Omar Puente), and La Comparsa (Ernesto Lecuona)
This quartet’s work is stamped in numerous national and foreign CD productions.
