The International Choir Festival CORHABANA will celebrate its 14th edition next June and organizes a previous event called CORHABANA Saluda a Mayabeque (CORHABANA Salutes Mayabeque), from March 18 to April 8.

Created by the National Center of Concert Music in collaboration with the Provincial Culture Division of that western territory, the event will take place in four municipalities: Madruga, Bejucal, Güines and San José de las Lajas.

Presentations and collateral meetings with music art instructors and choral groups are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. every Friday throughout April.

The Camerata Vocale Sine Nomine, under the direction of Leonor Suárez, began performances on March 18 at the Casa de Cultura in Madruga.

The Exaudi Chamber Choir, under the conduction of María Felicia Pérez, will continue on March 25 at the Casa de Cultura in Bejucal.

On April 1st, at the Provincial Library of Güines, the Vocal Leo Chamber Choir, conducted by Corina Campos, is expected to perform; and the National Choir of Cuba, conducted by Digna Guerra, will close the program on April 8 at the San José de Las Lajas Movie Theater.

In this regard, the 2006 National Music Prize has corroborated the excellence of the Cuban choral movement, demonstrated "in the attendance to concerts and presentations abroad, in which our choirs enjoy a well-deserved reputation.''

For decades, Cuban institutions have worked on choral music, creating a taste in different audiences through events, artistic education, and cultural houses in the communities. At present, the national choirs have a permanent, faithful and cultured audience that enjoys the high quality of their repertoires and performances.

The 14th edition of the international festival of choral singing, CORHABANA 2022, will be held from June 28 to July 2 at the Basílica Menor del Convento de San Francisco de Asís, in Havana's Historic Center.
