A total of 111 pieces were presented to compete in the 2021 edition of this cultural contest. Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, México, Panamá, Paraguay, Perú, Portugal, Uruguay, Venezuela, and Cuba were the countries that participated.

According to the event’s official website, 42 inedited songs were awarded, in which the creative diversity of Latin America and the roots and identity of the contestants was appreciated.

When Eme Alfonso knew the results, she said: “I am very happy about these news. I’ve been awarded by Ibermúsicas along with two other great Cuban artists. The song I presented is an inedited one, and I am moved because composing is what I enjoy the most of all the art forms that I’ve chosen.”

“We are extremely happy and surprised about the news that Ale and I have won an award, along with the marvelous Eme Alfonso, in the most recent edition of the Song Creation Award sponsored by Ibermúsicas. We are thankful for this excellent opportunity, and immensely motivated to continue creating from our Island”, said Daniel Torres Corona on his Facebook profile, also in the name of Alejandro Uría Forcelledo.

Ibermúsicas is a multilateral program of international cooperation devoted exclusively to musical arts, where the creation of new audiences is fostered and also the widening of the job market for the professionals in these areas.
