The Luna Vocal Ensemble will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its foundation, with a concert in the Minor Basilica of the San Francisco de Asís Convent.

The public that will attend this celebration on March 11 at 6:00 pm will enjoy an interesting and varied program in which prestigious guests will participate and emblematic pieces of universal choral music will be performed.

This show will be an excellent opportunity to verify the maturity reached by this renowned female group during its first 20 years of artistic life.

The Luna Vocal Ensemble is made up of more than fifteen professional singers graduated from the middle and higher levels of music education in the country and its repertoire includes works by numerous composers, styles and genres of universal music, ranging from ancient to contemporary music. .

Created by teacher Sonia McCormack on the 1st. September 2002, Vocal Luna is currently under the direction of the teacher Maribel Nodarse.

His two phonograms are Apunte , recorded in 2005 by the Cuban record company EGREM and Cantos de Cuba y el mundo , from 2015, under the Colibrí record label of the Cuban Institute of Music.

This format stands out for its sonority and constant experimentation, which has taken him beyond singing, to delve into bodily expressiveness through innovative choreographic and scenic elements, his proposals being very attractive.

Vocal Luna has participated in several editions of the most prestigious international choral festivals based in Cuba; as well as in the Festival of Habaneras and Polyphonies of Torrevieja, Spain 2006 and the International Festival El Canto sister to the peoples, Ecuador 2007. In the X International Festival D'Canto de Isla de Margarita, Venezuela 2007, he won the Grand Prize and the Gold Medal for score in the category of female voices, and he was also awarded the Grand Prize and the Prize for the best interpretation in the Habaneras and Polyphonies Contest of Havana 2007.
