The chamber music festival A Tempo con Caturla begins its presentations today with records by founders of the annual event organized by AHS branch in the province of Villa Clara.
Caturla + Plus, the longest festival, gives title to the inaugural program of its XXV edition, which will be held from the internet according to the announcement of the organizers when recognizing the current sanitary conditions as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic in the national territory.
According to information from the Cuban Institute of Music, from eight in the morning, Cuban time, they will be shared on social networksperformances by Camerata Romeu,Schola Cantorum Coralina, Arsis Saxophone Quintet, guitar players Yalit González and Alejandro González, Ars Longa Ancient Music Ensemble, as well as pianists Ivet Frontela and David Virelles.
It will also be possible to see, in the context of the celebrations for the 25th anniversary of its foundation, the Villa Clara Raptus Ensemble, a group to which this new edition is dedicated along with other groups, institutions and personalities.
For the occasion, A Tempo con Caturla invited in a special way the also pianist Harold López- Nussa and the Eternal Music Chamber Orchestra founded and directed by Maestro Guido López-Gavilán, 2015 National Music Prize.
With presentations until next Sunday, which can be followed from their publications on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and Telegram, the Festival will include for the first time the presentation of foreign interpreters.
The event celebrates the anniversary this time 115 years of the birth of the great Cuban composer Alejandro García Caturla (1906-1940.
Traditionally developed in the province of Villa Clara, the birthplace of the great creator who died at the age of 34, the event was moved on this occasion to the virtual space so as not to miss the opportunity to gather, as usual, at the best of the country's chamber music scene.
A Tempo con Caturla will also celebrate the 35th anniversary of the AHS, the centenary of the Latin Institute of Music, the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Villa Clara Symphony Orchestra, as well as the 80th birthday of maestro Chucho Valdés, who will be the guest of honor.
