French violinist Manon Galy and Cuban pianist Jorge Emilio Gonzalez will soon give two concerts in Havana, according to the program of the Month of French Culture in Cuba.

The first concert will be on May 31, at 6:00 p.m. local time, at the Basilica Menor del Convento de San Francisco de Asís, located in Havana’s Historic Center.

There, the artists will perform works by relevant musicians such as Claude Debussy, Jascha Heifetz, Clara Schumann and Ludwig van Beethoven.

In addition, on June 3 they will offer another presentation at the Teatro Martí, at 7:00 p.m. local time, this time with a program that will include the composers Claude Debussy, Jascha Heifetz, Maurice Ravel, J. L. Fleury, Francis Poulenc and Lili Boulanger.

Both concerts are part of the activities for the Month of French Culture in Cuba, to be held in this capital and Santiago de Cuba until June 4.

About the musicians Manon Galy and Emilio Gonzalez, the event reviews that after growing up 7500 kilometers away from Havana and the south of France, it was in Paris where they met while studying at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse.

It was an instant musical and human love, at first sight, that quickly led them to perform together.

The review adds that these two concerts in the Cuban capital are symbolic for them as they represent the rich cultural exchange that characterizes this duo.
