More than two centuries has the parish of the Virgen de Regla, which inaugurated with a party and the preaching of the priest Félix Varela, gave rise to the ultramarine town of Havana.
During the time that has elapsed, many transformations have taken place in the aforementioned patron celebration, but its essence is intact: revering the saint for several days, while people from different origins dance and have fun.
From September 6 to 9, the usual entertainment takes place, which this time features the Futuro dance group, led by instructor Mirtha Suárez, with folkloric presentations of Yoruba origin, as well as the pieces *Mambo 8* and *Bemba Colorá*.
All the artistic manifestations have been present at the festival, with fans from the municipal House of Culture, among others, the dance group Las Chunguitas, led by the instructor Carmen Costales, in addition to the vocal soloists: Amado González, Manuel Benítez and Reinier Almanza. .
Letters and theater have been part of the magic of this revelry, with the participation of Lourdes León, National Prize for Oral Narration, instructors Lidia Rosa Cárdenas, Maricet Rodríguez and literary specialists.
For children, the patron saint's party begins at 5 in the afternoon, with the Ahe dance groups in full mix and Danzailen, the Payasita Margarita, face painting and other initiatives, while the nights are for recorded music in the Guaicanamar Park, of the Rule municipality.
Cuban culture grows in these traditions that do not forget the procession of the Black Virgin on its day, every September 7, nor the tours of the local religious councils of African origin and the sound art of the festivities, which currently shares the day with new rhythms.
