A new song released with the title Puentes de Amor, calls for the lifting of the United States blockade against Cuba, a policy that promotes hatred and directly affects Cuban families.

The song is written and performed by the Cuban-American professor Carlos Lazo, coordinator of the project that bears the same name for musical creation, and by the artist Chalu from Barcelona, although it also has the collaboration of Alex Pro, Dj Mr Ale and Saul.

According to Lazo, the lyrics, which came from his soul, exposes his reasons for defending the island by stating that 'the Homeland is the forging cradle of childhood'.

In just over three minutes, the song speaks of the need for peace, of leaving hatred behind, and calls for support to eliminate the sanctions that prevent Cubans from within and outside the Caribbean nation from maintaining family ties.

The song identifies the requests of the Puentes de Amor project, which requires the reopening of the United States embassy in Havana, resuming the family reunification program and reestablishing remittances to the Cuban nation.

Likewise, among the demands they highlight the end of travel restrictions to Cuba for Americans and that North American airlines can once again fly to all the provinces of the Caribbean country.

These prohibitions issued during the administration of President Donald Trump , who intensified the blockade against the Cuba with 243 measures, are maintained during the current Joe Biden administration, despite electoral promises to promote bilateral relations.

The Bridges of Love movement convened another global caravan for June 20 similar to those that occurred last Sunday in some 70 cities around the world, where hundreds of people demanded that Biden lift the economic siege. Later, on June 23, Cuba will present to the UN General Assembly the resolution that each year asks the international community for the end of the blockade, a vote postponed in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
